LIVESTREAM: Italy – Milano Seamen @Firenze Guelfi, Sat. April 13, 3p CEDT (9a EDT)

In the top game of the week from Italy, the defending champion Milano Seamen (2-1) head to Florence to face the unbeaten Firenze Guelfi (3-0)  Saturday, April 13 at the Guelfi Sport Center.

Firenze has opened the season with three solid wins over the Parma Panthers (27-17), Lazio Ducks (36-22) and the Torino Giaguari who they knocked off 49-14. Milano had been looking equally impressive the victories over the Bergamo Lions, Bologna Warriors and Ancona Dolphins (29-6) before they were unceremoniously dumped by Parma last week 22-19.

Firenze boasts the top scoring offense in the league averaging 37.3 points a game behind the league’s best running back in Silas Nacita and quarterback Lynx Hawthorne. Nacita is averaging 122 yards rushing per game to lead the country while Hawthorne is third with 71.7. Although Hawthorne has only thrown for 422 yards in three games, he doesn’t have to do much more with such a potent running attack.

Seamen quarterback Luke Zahradka has thrown for 775 yards and a league-best 12 touchdowns and has two excellent receivers in Xavier Mitchell who has 262 yards receiving, and Stefano Di Tunisi who has recorded 224 yards. Milano’s ground game is lagging with Danilo Bonaparte having only gained 145 yards so far in four games.

Will this be a changing of the guard?
