The Wroclaw Panthers begin their Polish Football League playoff campaign Sunday when they host Zielona Góra Wataha in a quarterfinal matchup, with the second-seeded Panthers looking to continue the form that made them one of the league’s top championship contenders.
Wroclaw closed the regular season in second place after defeating the Silesia Rebels and finished as the highest-scoring playoff team with 257 points. Zielona Góra, meanwhile, battled its way into the postseason after an up-and-down regular season and now arrives with nothing to lose.
Panthers powered by explosive offense
Few teams have matched the offensive firepower of the Panthers this season.
Quarterback Re-al Dupree Mitchell has been one of the league’s most dynamic playmakers, throwing 19 touchdown passes while adding nine rushing touchdowns. His ability to create plays both through the air and on the ground has made Wroclaw’s offense one of the most difficult to defend.
His favorite target has been Tomasz Burdziński, who finished the regular season with 11 touchdowns and 68 points, giving the Panthers a dangerous big-play combination capable of changing a game in a matter of minutes.

Wataha seeking another surprise
The Wataha earned its playoff berth with a strong finish to the regular season, including a decisive victory over the Dukes to clinch a place in the top eight.
The visitors rely on a physical brand of football and will try to slow the tempo against one of the league’s most explosive offenses. Having already faced the Panthers earlier this season, they will hope those lessons help produce a much closer contest this time around.
Head coach Jakub Samel expects another physical battle and knows the playoffs bring a fresh start regardless of regular-season records.
For the Panthers, the mission is simple. Protect home field, continue the offensive production that carried them through the regular season, and take the first step toward another Polish Football League championship run.
