The Paderborn Dolphins (1-1) will play host to the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes (1-0) in an early season German Football League clash.

In the only meeting between the two teams in 2023, the Dolphins came away with a 33-28 win.

The Dolphins opened the season by being pummeled 38-7 by the Dresden Monarchs but rebounded with a 10-7 win over the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions. Kiel matched their win total from 2023 by also beating the Lions in their opening game doubling up on them 28-14.

For Paderborn, Zachary Whitehead has completed 40 of 59 passes for 389 yards and his main targets have been Clemens Schuldt and Louis Waldmann who have 142 and 96 yards receiving respectively in the two games. Joshua Breece rushed for 87 yards on 24 carries and scored a touchdown.

Hurricanes quarterback Nate Hayden threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns in that opening day win with Isaiah Harris catching four passes for 63 yards and a touchdown to lead the team. The Kiel ground game was excellent against Braunschweig with Lorenz Rotermund rushing for 205 yards and a pair for touchdowns.

The Dolphins will have to find a way to stop the Kiel running game to have a chance in this game.
