LIVESTREAM Spain: Coslada Camioneros @ Las Rozas Black Demons, Jan. 14, 16:00 CET (4 pm, 10 am ET)

The LG OLED Las Rozas Black Demons, second place finishers in 2022, open the Spanish National League of American Football, LNFA, season hosting the Coslada Camioneros on January 14.

The Black Demons reached the Spanish title game in 2022 but lost to cross town rivals, Madrid’s Osos Rivas, 28-12. The club responded by finding new head coach Sam Eisenstadt former Swedish Champion coach with the Orebro Black Knights in 2021. The team rallied and won the Spanish Cup (No-import tournament) in December.

Eisenstadt signed Canadian quarterback Theo Landers (Guelph U, Frankfurt Universe), along with German wideout Luis Moreno (Frankfurt Galaxy) Swedish defensive backs Cewin Eriksson (Orebro Black Knights), and Phillip Batista Grondahl (Orebro Black Knights).

Coslada Camioneros head coach Raul Saavedra has moved the team up from LNFA Serie B and will look to prove they belong in Spain’s top league. The team brings back a strong core of players who were able to make the LNFA Serie B Playoffs. Mexican quarterback Hector Hernandez returns along with lineman and fellow countryman Alan Sousa. Serbian linebacker Peter Stevanak adds to a defense that dominated the Serie B last season.

The 2022 finalists, the Black Demons, should be the favorites but the opening game of a season is always a toss up.
