LIVESTREAM Sweden: Stockholm Mean Machines @ Örebro Black Knights, Sept. 5, 15:30 CET, (09:30 ET)

The Swedish Superserien continues this Saturday with the Stockholm Mean Machines visiting the Örebro Black Knights. The visiting Mean Machines are undefeated going into week three and are looking to go 3-0 against the rest of the league at the halfway point.

The Örebro Black Knights have faced a lot of adversity already this season losing starting quarterback Jake Sisson to an injury in the first game of the season. The team scrambled for answers and signed British quarterback Dammy Agababiaka who has previously played for the London Olympians. Agababiaka is an athletic quarterback whose play should improve as he and his new team get more acclimated with each other. That being said Agababiaka and the Black Knights struggled offensively in a 14-6 loss to the Carlstad Crusaders last week gaining only 72 total yards with Agababiaka throwing three interceptions. Running back Kasper Wedberg was also held in check as he gained only 28 yards on the ground. Agababiaka had some thoughts on this weeks matchup:

“To generate our maximum output on offense, I believe practice as a whole, as well as individual study, this week is essential for creating the relationship between original and newer components of the team.”

Defensively the Black Knights played very well last week holding the Crusaders to only 159 total yards. They were led by veteran defensive back Josh Murphy who had a fantastic statistical game racking up 11 total tackles and 3 tackles for a loss. This week Örebro’s defense will need to play well to slow down a hot Stockholm offense.

For the Stockholm Mean Machines they enter week three as the only undefeated team in the Superserien. Last week they looked dominant beating Uppsala 41-0. They were led by dynamic quarterback Timothy Morovick who ran for 92 yards, threw for 227 yards, and totaled three touchdowns. The Mean Machines offense was humming as they amassed 398 yards on the day. Offensive lineman Keanu Ebanks had some thoughts on this week’s matchup:

“They are a good a team, their defense is solid, but we have some guys on our squad who can move the ball, block for Tim, and block for the back. We have a good gameplan we feel like, and we are gonna do it through the air and on the ground.”

Defensively Stockholm has played excellent football so far this season. Through two games their defense has only given up 12 points and has created 3 turnovers. Defender Malcolm Engstrom has been a force so far making five tackles for a loss and a sack in two games this season.

Look for another close game this Saturday in Sweden in what seems to a balanced Superserien this year. Örebro will have to play better on offense this week if they want to have a chance to win and prove they are a contender. It will not be easy as they are facing a talented Stockholm squad.
