Mexico: Jon Mullin signs with LFA’s Jalisco Reyes

The Jalisco Reyes of the Mexican League Liga De Fútbol Americano, LFA, have signed quarterback Jon Mullin.

Mullin is excited to suit up as the first quarterback for the newly formed Reyes:

“I’m excited to be the first quarterback for the organization and this is a great opportunity to prove myself.”

The 6’2 214-pound quarterback last played for the Silesia Rebels in the Polish Football League, PFL, in 2021, Poland’s top league, leading them to a 2-4 regular season record and a wild card playoff win.

Before signing with the Rebels, the Bayonne, New Jersey native last played for the PFL’s Bialystok Lowlanders in 2020. He only appeared in one contest, ironically against his new team, the Silesia Rebels, leading the Lowlanders to a 38-14 victory before suffering an injury which ended his season. Prior to his short stint with Bialystok, he played for the Wesley Wolverines, (NCAA, Div. III) from 2017 to 2019. Mullin recorded 144 completions for 1,835 yards and 14 touchdowns during his career with the Wolverines.

The 23-year-old Mullin now joins the newest member of the LFA coached by Ernesto Alfaro who has the most victories in the history of the league.

The Reyes open the 2022 LFA season at home on March 5 against the Raptors.
