Mexico: Reyes de Jalisco re-sign LB Anthony Patrick for 2023

The Reyes de Jalisco of Mexico’s Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional have re-signed linebacker Anthony Patrick for the 2023 season.

The 6’1″, 230 pound native of Nashville, Tennessee is returning for his third season in Mexico. He is hoping he can help bring a championship to Jalisco after being a part of an expansion team that made the playoffs in their first year as an organization, only to be eliminated by the Raptors de Naulcapan in the wild card round.

Last year with the Reyes, the 26-year-old linebacker racked up two interceptions, a forced fumble and a league-high 40 solo tackles and 60 total tackles.

Before he started in the pros, he spent his college years from 2016-2019 for Bethel University (NAIA) in McKenzie, Tennessee. After graduating, Patrick would play in the HBCU Spirit Bowl and the National Bowl.

He would get a tryout opportunity with the Detroit Lions of the National Football League, but upon getting denied, he turned his sights south and played the 2020 season with the Dinos de Saltillo of the LFA. As in 2022, he would lead the league in tackles. Following cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 seasons, Patrick signed with the Reyes.
