Netherlands: Amsterdam Crusaders steam on, defeat Falcons 28-7

The Amsterdam Crusaders (4-0) extended their impressive winning streak against the Arnhem Falcons (0-4) with a decisive 28-7 victory, maintaining their position at the top of the Dutch Eredivisie. The Crusaders have now gone over 700 days without a loss, showcasing their dominance in the league.

Fast start for Amsterdam
The game kicked off with a bang for the Crusaders. On just the third play, running back Chinecherem Ugwuozor took a handoff and sprinted 61 yards for a touchdown, putting Amsterdam ahead 7-0 early. The Falcons struggled to respond, and the rain began to pour, making conditions challenging for both teams.

Defensive stand and a blocked kick
In the second quarter, Arnhem appeared to find their rhythm, moving into scoring position thanks to a strong run by Leonard Harris. However, their hopes were dashed when the Crusaders blocked the field goal attempt. To add insult to injury, Crusaders defender Julius Dollard scooped up the ball and returned it for a touchdown, extending the lead to 14-0.

Falcons fight back
After halftime, the Falcons showed resilience. Karim Saïd Hussein returned the kickoff 91 yards, dodging multiple tackles to score and bring the game to 14-7. However, the Crusaders quickly regained control, with Ugwuozor adding another touchdown on a remarkable 73-yard run.

Despite the loss, the Falcons displayed moments of promise, which could boost their confidence as they aim for a playoff spot in the coming weeks. The Crusaders, meanwhile, continue to roll, solidifying their status as the team to beat in the league.
