New rushing leader in Italy as season hits midpoint

After four weeks, Italy’s Div. I has hit the midseason point and a new rushing leader has emerged.

Firenze Guelfi’s Silas Nacita, one of the top running backs in the German Football League for three years, has taken over top spot in the rushing category.

After four weeks, the Lazio Ducks may have the most representation but the Guelfi are closing in.

The Ducks have four players among the top five in the three offensive categories while the Milano Seamen have three. The Bolzano Giants, Firenze Guelfi and Bergamo Lions have two apiece while the Parma Panthers and Torino Giaguari have one player each. The Bologna Warriors and Ancona Dolphins are the only teams without representation.

Passing

Lazio Ducks QB Tyler Johnson continues to top the passing charts, now with 866 yards and 11 TDs. Bolzano Giants QB Austin Gahafer remains in second with 834 yards and 11 TDs. Luke Zahradka of the Milano Seamen occupies 3rd with 775  yards and a league-best 12 TDs while Bergamo Lions QB Andrea Fimiani holds onto 4th with 538 yards. Mark Wright of the Torino Giaguari is now 5th with 479 yards.

Rushing

Firenze Guelfi’s Silas Nacita has climbed up into the top spot after rushing for 149 yards  (his 2nd +140 yard rushing day) in a big win over the Torino Giaguari and now has 368 yards rushing after only three games. Ducks RB Mike Gentili has dropped down to 2nd with 301 yards while Bergamo’s Alexander Germany has moved back up into 3rd with 279 yards and 5 TDs. Guelfi QB Lynx Hawthorne is now 4th and has 215 yards while Lazio Ducks QB Tyler Johnson is the 5th leading rusher with 214 yards.

Receiving

Bolzano Giants WR Mark Simone padded his lead atop the receivers list catching 6 passes for 118 yards and 2 TDs in the Giants 33-6 win over Bologna giving him 424 yards and a league-best 7 TDs. Stefano Di Tunisi of the Milano Seamen has moved up into 2nd now with 262 yards while his teammate Xavier Mitchell is 3rd with 224 yards. A newcomer to the list is Vinzenzo Ferraro of the Parma Panthers who now has 211 yards. Returning to the list is Lazio Ducks Tommaso Pozzebon with 196 yards.
