A four-year letterman at Georgia Tech with 37 starts, the 6-foot-4½-inch, 287-pound defensive lineman started his football career in Australia after discovering the game playing Madden football. Then he got hooked after watching the 2006 Rose Bowl between Texas and Southern California. He attended Kew High School in Australia and competed in Australian Rules Football for eight years before playing American Rules Football in the Gridiron Victoria for the Monash Warriors in Melbourne where he earned league MVP honors in 2010. He is the highest-drafted Australian-born player in NFL history.

The MelbourneAustralia native became the highest-drafted Australian-born player in NFL history when he was selected by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2016 Draft.
