Czech Snapbacks League: Nitra Knights edge Prerov Mammoths 29-21 in double overtime thriller

In a nail-biting matchup in the Czech Snapbacks League, the Nitra Knights (2-1) defeated the Prerov Mammoths (2-1) 29-21 after two overtime periods.

This exciting game showcased both teams’ resilience and determination, ultimately leading to a dramatic finish.

Slow start turns into scoring showdown
The first quarter was a cautious affair, with both teams exchanging five punts and failing to find the end zone. However, the second quarter saw the Mammoths break the deadlock when quarterback Nicolas Visser connected with Květoslav Kučera for a stunning 47-yard touchdown, putting Prerov ahead 7-0 at halftime.

The Knights struggled offensively at the start of the second half, but the tide turned in the fourth quarter. Daniel Kamiński scored a touchdown for the Mammoths, extending their lead to 14-0. Nitra responded with a 12-yard touchdown pass from Desmond Prusia to Pavol Horník, narrowing the gap. With less than two minutes left, Prusia found Juraj Sanitra in the end zone, tying the game at 14-14 and forcing overtime.

Overtime drama unfolds
In the first overtime, the Mammoths scored on a 1-yard touchdown run by Visser, but the Knights answered back with a touchdown from Prusia to Horník. The game continued into a second overtime, where the Knights struck first again. Despite a valiant effort from the Mammoths, they fell short, and Nitra secured the thrilling 29-21 victory.
