Nitra Knights rally to defeat Brno Sígrs in Czech Snapbacks League season opener

In a thrilling season opener in the Czech Snapbacks League, the Nitra Knights (1-0) battled back from an early deficit to secure a 29-22 victory over the Brno Sígrs (0-1).

The Sígrs, looking to make a statement in their first game of the season, jumped out to an early lead, but the Knights showcased their resilience and determination, ultimately turning the tide in a hard-fought contest.

Strong start for the Sígrs
The game began with the Sígrs surprising everyone, as their defense stifled the Knights on the opening drive. A low snap led to a safety, giving Brno a quick 2-0 lead. The momentum continued when quarterback Ondřej Skoupý connected with Richard Poláček for a touchdown, extending the lead to 9-0. In the fourth quarter, Clark added a 34-yard touchdown, extending the Knights’ lead to 29-15. The Sígrs fought back with a late touchdown from Skoupý to Samuel Muniz, but it wasn’t enough. An onside kick attempt was recovered by Nitra, sealing their hard-fought victory. The Knights showed resilience and determination, setting the tone for an exciting season ahead.
