Paris Musketeers re-sign Head Coach Jack Del Rio for 2026 EFA season
The Paris Musketeers have officially announced the re-signing of head coach Jack Del Rio for the upcoming 2026 season in the European Football Alliance. After guiding the team to a solid 7-5 record in their third season, Del Rio’s leadership has proven invaluable, particularly in building the stingiest defense in the league that allowed just under 15 points per game.
A lifetime in the NFL
With over 35 years of experience in professional football, Del Rio brings a wealth of knowledge to the Musketeers. Prior to arriving in Paris, the 62-year-old coach had previously led the Jacksonville Jaguars for eight seasons, achieving two playoff appearances and a playoff win in 2007. He also had a successful stint with the Oakland Raiders, where he guided the team to a playoff berth in 2016 with a 12-4 record. Overall, Del Rio boasts 93 career wins as an NFL head coach.
Before joining the Musketeers, Del Rio served as the defensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders and the Carolina Panthers. He began his coaching career as a linebackers coach for the Baltimore Ravens, where he helped develop future Hall of Famer Ray Lewis and won Super Bowl XXXV.
A new challenge in Paris
Del Rio’s transition to the European Football Alliance marks a new chapter in his career. He took over the Musketeers from Marc Mattioli, who led the team to a commendable 16-8 record over its first two seasons. Del Rio expressed excitement about returning to Paris, highlighting the dedication of the players and the passion of the fans.
In a recent press release, he stated, “We are building something real and lasting here – not only for the Paris Musketeers but for the future of American football in Europe!” With Del Rio at the helm, the Musketeers are poised to make a significant impact in the league and aim for a championship run in 2026.
As the Musketeers prepare for the upcoming season, the combination of Del Rio’s extensive experience and the talent on the roster promises an exciting year ahead for fans in Paris.
