RIP Brian Caler – 1980-2026

From player to program builder
Caler joined the Allgäu Comets as a quarterback in 2004, becoming head coach by 2009. He guided them from the Regional League to the GFL1 over nine seasons, building a lasting foundation for success.
Leading through challenge
He later coached the Weinheim Longhorns (2019-2022), holding the team together through the pandemic years while demonstrating his commitment to players during football’s most difficult period.
Championship legacy
Caler led the Frankfurt Universe to a 12–2 record and national championship appearance in 2018, cementing his reputation as an influential American coach in European football.
