UFL Players of the Week shine in Week Four
The DC Defenders and Louisville Kings both had standout performances in Week Four of the United Football League, earning recognition for their top players. With impressive stats and game-changing plays, Jordan Ta’amu, Cam Gill, and Tanner Brown helped their teams secure crucial victories.
Offensive Player of the Week: Jordan Ta’amu
Jordan Ta’amu of the DC Defenders was named the Offensive Player of the Week after leading his team to a third consecutive victory, a 28-22 win over the Battlehawks. After struggling in the first matchup against St. Louis (a 16-10 loss to open the season), Ta’amu turned things around in this game throwing for 204 yards and two touchdowns. His ability to escape pressure and add 61 rushing yards made a significant impact on the game. Ta’amu’s performance solidified his status as a key player for the Defenders as they prepare for their next game in Birmingham.
Defensive Player of the Week: Cam Gill
On the defensive side, Cam Gill of the Louisville Kings earned the NOBULL Defensive Player of the Week honor. In Louisville’s first-ever victory, 24-22 over the Gamblers, Gill was a force on the field, recording eight tackles and two sacks. His relentless pursuit of the quarterback helped the Kings dominate Houston’s offense, contributing to a total of four sacks for the team. Gill’s leadership on defense was crucial in securing the win.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Tanner Brown
Tanner Brown also from the Louisville Kings was recognized as the Special Teams Player of the Week. He played a pivotal role in the Kings’ victory, going 5-for-6 on field goals, including a remarkable 59-yarder to start the game. Brown’s ability to connect from long distances, including a 58-yarder before halftime, showcased his elite leg strength. His contributions accounted for 16 of the Kings’ 24 points, proving he was a game-changer.
