Warsaw Eagles soar past Panthers in Polish Football League season-opening statement
The defending champion Warsaw Eagles (1-0) kicked off their 2026 Polish Football League title defense in dominant fashion, shutting out the Wroclaw Panthers (0-1) by a convincing 28-0 scoreline on the road.
Hazlett leads the charge
Warsaw quarterback Clark Hazlett was nearly flawless, accounting for three first-half touchdowns. He connected with receiver Krzysztof Nosow on a 35-yard strike in the first quarter, then added a 20-yard rushing score in the second. Kicker Filip Twardowski was perfect on all four extra-point attempts.
Defense delivers shutout
The Eagles’ defense was equally impressive, completely stifling the Panthers’ attack and never allowing the home team to gain momentum. The shutout was sealed in the second half when Hazlett found Bruno Waszkiewicz for another 35-yard touchdown, followed by a 7-yard scoring run from Kacper Bogdański in the fourth quarter. It was a comprehensive performance that sent a clear message to the rest of the league: the Eagles are still the team to beat.
