British American Football Player Returns From US High School

Calvin Stitt, born in Brighton, England, began his American football career with the Sussex Thunder Youth team, before heading to the United States to play high school football.

Calvin was given the opportunity to play in America and has spent the past two years as quarterback of the Artesia High School Pioneers in Lakewood, California. Artesia HS plays in California’s Div. III and famous alum include NBA basketball star James Harden of the Houston Rockets.

According to coaches, the young British American football player displayed accuracy and good decision making, utilising his Southpaw delivery, alongside his ability to throw on the run, to confound defences

He has now returned to Great Britain with a wealth of hard-earned experience. Stitt will be heading to SGS College this September to join the Bristol Academy of Sport Pride football programme.

The Bristol Academy PRIDE is an Elite American Football Academy for American football players aged 16-19.

Founded in 2009 the Pride ensure students are supported by an experienced coaching, mentoring and support staff that will allow them every opportunity to take personal responsibility in developing sporting and academic excellence. Coach Ben Herod and his team have had great success in finding British Ballers’ opportunities take a shot at fulfilling their American Football dreams in the US – including a number of young athletes heading stateside to play this autumn.
