Finland: Helsinki Wolverines sign Southeastern Louisiana University defensive back Dejion Lynch

The Helsinki Wolverines, finalists in Finland’s Maple League in 2020, have signed defensive back Dejion Lynch from Southeastern Louisiana University (NCAA Div. 1, FCS) for the 2021 season.

The 24 year old, 6’0″, 196 pound native of Los Angeles, California, played a total of 30 games in his three year career with Southeastern Louisiana recording 84 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack to go along with 13 passes defended.  In both 2016 and 2017 he made the Southland Commissioner’s Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Wolverines head coach Michael Mattingly:

“Dejion is a tremendous athlete straight from university  who we believe will be a top-notch corner at both the Maple League and European levels. His speed, skills and football IQ will cause problems for opposing offenses. We are pleased to have a player like Dejion on our team and believe he will fit into the Wolverines defense very well in the 2021 season.”
