Switzerland: Bern Grizzlies sign MVP quarterback Clark Evans

The Bern Grizzlies in Switzerland’s National League have announced the signing of veteran and championship winning quarterback Clark Evans.

Evans was with the defending French champion Thonon Black Panthers but when the French season was canceled, he agreed to terms with Bern.

He was excited for the opportunity to be able to play and stay close to home. Evans lives in Switzerland.

“It’s great to be able to play in Switzerland again. Now that I live here and coach for the National team, it gives me even more incentive to grow my own Brand here in Switzerland.

Evans record speaks for itself.

With Evans behind center, the Black Panthers captured their first French title in 2019 after a five year drought. Thonon won the title in France in 2013 and 2014.

The 6’4″, 240 pound, 30 year old Evans enjoyed an outstanding year with the Black Panthers in 2019 leading them to the title while leading the league in rushing too with 1,012 yards. He had played for Switzerland’s Calanda Broncos for the two seasons prior to that, helping them win two straight Swiss championships and in 2018 led them to an undefeated season. He played for Germany’s Dusseldorf Panther in 2016 and spent the 2015 season with the Ljubljana Silverhawks of Slovenia. A native of Tustin, California, Evans played his college football at the University of Hawaii and also one year at Colorado.

The regular season in Switzerland is scheduled to start June 5/6 with the Swiss Bowl planned for October 9.
