The Projekt Spielberg Graz Giants (2-4) will matchup against the Prague Black Panthers (2-3) in this Austrian Football League matchup.

This is a huge game for both teams as they are battling it out for the fourth and final playoff spot as the AFL playoffs are only two games away.

After a chaotic off-season the Prague Black Panthers are still miraculously still in the hunt for the AFL playoffs. Two big wins against the Mödling Rangers launched the Czech squad back in the post season picture. Quarterback Zac Greenlee has played good football, finding receivers Jan Stiegler and Jakub Wolesky. On the ground, powerful running backs Jensik Ladislav and Henry Douglas Ofori Dankwah provide a one two punch that will challenge this physical Graz defense.

Expect Prague to send the blitz often as their secondary will have to step up against a Graz passing attack that likes to push the ball downfield. Defensive end’s Mark Danik and Jakub Smutny’s play will be crucial in getting to the Giants quarterback Conor Miller and disrupting one of Austria’s top passing attacks.

The Giants go into this week after a disappointing loss in Vienna. Running back Rock Wenzel and quarterback Conor Miller will look to bounce back and put up big numbers against this Prague defense. Fans can expect Giant’s receiver Darrell Adams to be a mismatch as his speed and size will be a problem for this Black Panthers secondary.

Graz’s defense will rely on Thomas Schnurrer to stop Prague powerful running game. Fans can expect some high impact collisions as Schnurrer’s hard hitting play matches up well with Prague physical backfield. On the outside, cornerback Juwan Haynes aims to take away Prague’s leading receiver Jan Stiegler.

Despite a ton of adversity Prague still has a chance for the post season. However, they’ll need to pull off the upset against the Giants to have a chance. Look for this Graz passing game to bounce back after struggling against a tough Vikings defense in their last outing.
