European League of Football offensive leaders hold a few surprises

The European League of Football has reached the halfway point of the 2021 season and there are a few surprises in the passing, rushing, and receiving stats leaders.

The only remaining unbeaten team in the ELF, the Hamburg Sea Devils, has only one representative among the 15 in the key offensive categories while the winless Berlin Thunder has three. Poland’s Wroclaw Panthers top all teams with four players among the 15 with both Berlin and the Cologne Centurions having three each. The Frankfurt Galaxy and Barcelona Dragons are represented by two players and Hamburg one. Two teams – the Stuttgart Surge and Leipzig Kings – are without representation among the top 15.

Passing

Wroclaw Panthers quarterback Lukas O’Connor has surprised the league with his team’s passing attack and leads all QBs with 1,543 yards passing and a league-best 15 TDs. Close behind in 2nd spot is a surprise as well, with Zach Edwards, QB for the 1-4 Barcelona Dragons throwing for 1,435 yards and 12 TDs. In 3rd is Frankfurt Galaxy QB Jake Sullivan with 1,071 yards while Jan Weinreich of the Cologne Centurions is 4th with 985 yards. Berlin Thunder QB Calvin Stitt is 5th having thrown for 769 yards.

Rushing

Cologne Centurions mercurial running back Madre London has been tearing up the ELF and is the runaway rushing leader halfway through the season. He has rushed for 1,165 yards (233 yards/game) and 12 TDs in only 5 games. A distant 2nd is Joc Crawford of the Berlin Thunder with his 587 yards and 5 TDs. Hamburg Sea Devils RB Xavier Johnson is 3rd with 489 yards while Philéas Pasqualini of the Wroclaw Panthers is 4th (287 yards) and Frankfurt RB Gerald Ameln 5th with 214 yards.

Jean Constant of the Barcelona Dragons leads all ELF receivers with his 664 yards while Cologne Centurions WR Quintin Pounds is behind him in 2nd with 518 yards and 7 TDs. Przemysław Banat of the Panthers has 476 yards receiving, good for 3rd while Seantavius Jones of the Berlin Thunder is 4th. He has 440 yards and a league-leading 8 TD receptions. Fifth place belongs to another Wroclaw WR, Jakub Mazan, who has 361 yards.
