U.S. Ambassador Impressed with Level of Game in Egypt

U.S. Ambassador to Egypt R. Stephen Beecroft recently attended an Egyptian National Football League game in Cairo, and it seems he was pleasantly surprised.
As he watched the GUC Eagles battle the Cairo Hellhounds last Saturday, he became impressed with the quality of the play and the players. He shared his praise for the growth and development of the game in Egypt which is only a few years old.
Beecroft assumed his post as Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt in 2014. He is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, and has served as the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Iraq. Prior to his service in Iraq, Ambassador Beecroft served as Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
