LIVESTREAM Germany PPV: Pforzheim Wilddogs @ Ravensburg Razorbacks, July 4, 18:00 CET (6 pm, 12 noon ET)

The Pforzheim Wilddogs (6-1) head to Ravensburg on Saturday for one of the biggest games of the German Football League weekend as they face the Ravensburg Razorbacks (3-3) in a rematch of their convincing 28-10 victory earlier this season.

That first meeting demonstrated why the Wilddogs have emerged as one of the top teams in the GFL South. After weathering an early Ravensburg surge, Pforzheim took control with a relentless defense and balanced offense. Now the Razorbacks will look to turn the tables in front of their home fans, while the Wilddogs aim to continue their march toward the top of the standings.

Defense sets the tone

The Wilddogs have built their outstanding season around one of the league’s stingiest defenses. Through seven games, they have surrendered just 69 points, allowing fewer than 10 points per game while recording two shutouts. The secondary, led by Martin Körber, Marcel Barth and Konstantin Katz, has consistently capitalized on the pressure generated by the defensive front.

That formula proved decisive in the first meeting as constant pressure forced quarterback Broghean McGovern into three interceptions while Nathan Kalemba recorded two sacks.

Offensively, the Wilddogs have been just as impressive, averaging 35.4 points per game while showing the ability to attack through both the air and on the ground.

Razorbacks seek revenge

The Razorbacks know they must produce a much cleaner offensive performance than they managed in the first matchup. Although they average 29.2 points per game and have posted dominant victories over the Allgäu Comets and Saarland Hurricanes, they have struggled to consistently move the ball against the league’s top defenses.

Last week’s 28-0 loss to the unbeaten Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns highlighted that challenge once again.

Still, Ravensburg has every reason to believe it can make this a much different contest. Playing at TeleData Stadium, the Razorbacks will be motivated by the memory of the first meeting and the opportunity to strengthen their playoff position.

For the Wilddogs, the stakes are equally significant. With difficult games against the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns and Munich Cowboys still ahead, another victory would keep the pressure on the league leaders and reinforce their credentials as legitimate championship contenders.
