Austrian OL Valentin Senn replaces fellow countryman Bernhard Seikovits on Arizona Cardinals’ International Roster

The Arizona Cardinals have officially transitioned their international player roster exemption from tight end Bernhard Seikovits to newly signed offensive lineman Valentin Senn, both hailing from Austria.

Roster Shuffle Details
Seikovits, who joined Arizona in 2021 via the International Player Pathway Program (IPP), was released on April 30, 2025, after four seasons. His departure freed up the roster exemption, which the team immediately allocated to Senn, an undrafted free agent out of UConn.

Strategic Shift
By prioritizing Senn, the Cardinals shifted focus from tight end to offensive line depth. Senn, a 6’7″, 305-pound tackle, now carries the mantle as Arizona’s sole international exemption player, allowing him to bypass the 53-man roster limit during training camp.

Senn, 25, began his career with the Swarco Raiders, winning the 2018 Austrian Bowl and representing Austria’s junior national team.

Austrian Connection
Though Seikovits’ release ends his NFL journey for now, Senn’s signing reinforces Austria’s growing influence in the league. The Tyrolean’s path—from the Swarco Raiders to UConn—mirrors the trajectory of Bernhard Raimann (Colts), another Austrian lineman turned NFL starter.

The move underscores the NFL’s fluid approach to international talent development.
