Austrian stats leaders constant as season passes midpoint

The Austrian Football League has just passed the midpoint of its 2019 season and the shifts this week are fewer .

But Swarco Raiders QB Sean Shelton has made a big move up in passing yardage after a huge passing day.

The SonicWall Mödling Rangers and Projekt Spielberg Graz Giants each have four players among the Top 5 in the four categories. Next up are the Danube Dragons and Prague Black Panthers with three apiece while the Dacia Vienna Vikings and ASKÖ Traun Steelsharks have two representatives each. The Amstetten Thunder and league-leading Swarco Raiders each have one player.

Passing

Graz Giants QB Jake Kennedy remains in first place in passing yardage and now has 1,390 yards and a league best 19 TDs. John Uribe of the Traun Steelsharks holds on to 2nd with 1,386 yards while Swarco Raiders QB Sean Shelton has climbed into 3rd after throwing for 384 yards in a 54-14 win over the Mödling Rangers. He now has 1,372 yards. Danube Dragons QB Chad Jeffries also had a big day throwing for 370 yards against the Amstetten Thunder giving him 1,354 yards. Austin Herink of the Dacie Vienna Vikings has dropped to 5th with 1,264 yards and 14 TDs.

Receiving

SonicWall Mödling Rangers WR Roman Namdar stays in first with his 561 yards while Traun Steelsharks WR Mario Winter remains 2nd with 539 yards.  Another Rangers WREugen Sumic is 3rd with 537 yards while Giants WR Phillip Sommer is still 4th with 440 yards. Newcomer to the list this week is Danube Dragons WR  Philipp Haun who caught 3 passes for 109 yards and 2 TDs in his team’s win over the Thunder giving him 412 yards, good for 5th.

Rushing

Prague Black Panthers RB Herbert Gamboa continues to lead all rushers with 682 yards and a league-best 7 TDs. Florian Wegan of the Rangers comes in at 2nd place with 581 yards while Graz Giants RB Alexander Sanz has moved up into 3rd with 500 yards following a 164 yard, 2 TD rushing day against the Traun Steelsharks. Danube Dragons QB Chad Jeffries is 4th with 431 yards. Another QB, Black Panthers Dylan Potts has fallen to 5th with 351 yards

Tackles

Mödling Rangers LB Markus Bernas remains at the top of the list of tacklers in the Austrian Football League and now has 48.5 tackles after 6 games, averaging 8.1 a game. Graz Giants LB Thomas Schnurrer is 2nd with 46 tackles while Prague Black Panthers LB Karel Augusta is 3rd with his 34.5tackles.  Vikings LB Lucky Ogbevoen is the 4th leading tackler in the AFL now with 30 as well while Martin Dorner of the Amstetten Thunder is 5th with 28.5.
