Austria’s Bernhard Seikovits will remain with Arizona Cardinals

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, Austrian tight end Bernard Seikovits has signed a reserve/future contract with the Arizona Cardinals.

The 6’5″, 260 pound 26 year old native of Vienna, Austria has spent the better part of the last three seasons with the Cardinals as part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program, Although he has yet to appear in a game with the team he will now have another opportunity with the team for next season.

Seikovits is a product of the Vienna Vikings where he spent 13 years, helping the Vikings win the Austrian Football League title in 2017 when he caught four passes in the championship game for 133 yards and three touchdowns while also booting a field goal and five extra points. In the 2018 final against the Swarco Raiders, he caught seven passes for 181 yards and a touchdown in a losing cause. In 2019, Seikovits was the leading receiver on a Vikings team that again made it all the way to the championship game, putting up 864 receiving yards and eight touchdowns during the regular season.

He was on the NFL IPP program’s radar early on. After failing to be one of the final four players allocated to an NFL team in 2020, he was selected in 2021 as part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway program and ultimately allocated to the Cardinals.
