Carlstad Crusaders add Star RB De’Anta Sipp for Swedish Superserien title defense
Defending Swedish champions, the Carlstad Crusaders, have secured a major offensive weapon for their 2026 Superserien campaign, signing dynamic running back De’Anta Sipp, who joins the team after a standout season in Finland with the Seinäjoki Crocodiles.
A workhorse back with championship pedigree
Sipp arrives in Carlstad as a proven playmaker capable of carrying a heavy load. Last season, he was instrumental in transforming the Seinäjoki Crocodiles from a struggling squad into a finals contender, averaging an impressive 169 rushing yards per game. His explosive speed and elusiveness—showcased on plays like a 97-yard touchdown run—make him a constant home run threat. Standing 5-9 and weighing 201 pounds, the Senatobia, Mississippi native combines power and agility, proving difficult to bring down in the open field.
Experience on multiple continents
A versatile veteran, Sipp brings a wealth of experience from his college days at Kentucky Christian University and Campbellsville University (NAIA), where he rushed for 4,207 yards at 4.9 yards per carry, earning multiple individual awards. Beyond college and Finland, he has also played professionally in Brazil and the American indoor league, demonstrating adaptability and durability in various systems and styles of play.
Building around a new offensive identity
Carlstad head coach Christian Forsman expressed clear excitement about the signing, noting, “It feels really cool to be able to bring in a guy of this caliber. He more or less carried Seinäjoki’s offense all the way to the finals and racked up over 2,000 all-purpose yards.” Sipp’s ability to handle a high volume of carries and contribute as both a rusher and receiver provides the Crusaders with a versatile centerpiece for their offense as they aim to repeat as Superserien champions. His arrival signals a strong commitment to maintaining the team’s dominant ground game in the pursuit of another title.
