Lobos de Quito advance to title game in Ecuador

The Lobos de Quito will return to the Ecuadorian championship game after blanking the Caimanes Guayaquil 34-0 at Parque La Carolina in Quito, Ecuador.

With United States Ambassador Todd Chapman on hand for the coin toss, the defending champion Lobos jumped out to an 11-0 lead, controlling the game.

The Lobos defense forced two safeties in the first half and kept up the pressure in the second. The offense added to more touchdowns in the third quarter giving de Quito a 23-0 lead heading into the final quarter.

A final touchdown plus the two-point conversion finished off the Caimanes who were playing in the league for the first time.

In the other semifinal, the Colorados de Santo Domingo defeated Condors 48 to 8.

So the Lobos de Quito will face the Colorados de Santo Domingo in the Ecuador title game on November 25 in a repeat of the 2016 final which saw the Lobos defeat Santo Domingo.
