Edmonton Elks sign British offensive lineman Toby Lettman

The Edmonton Elks have announced the signing of Global offensive lineman Toby Lettman from Great Britain.

The 6’8″, 315 pound 28-year-old from Surrey, England was a member of the 2022 European League of Football championship Vienna Vikings team. This year, he moved over to the Tirol Raiders, the other Austrian team in the ELF but was released on August 1.

Lettman spent the 2018 season at Missouri Southern State University after transferring from Texas Christian University where he played in 2017. He spent two seasons at Saddleback College in California before earning a scholarship to Texas Christian.

He entered the 2021 CFL Global Draft but went unselected and then signed with the Potsdam Royals of the German Football League. He started every game for the Royals, helping them reach the GFL semifinals. He also spent time with the Frisco Fighters of the Indoor Football League, before signing with Vienna.

The Elks (1-9) captured their first win of the CFL season this past weekend, beating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 24-10. Edmonton returns to action on Sunday, August 27 when they host the Ottawa Redblacks at Commonwealth Stadium.
