EFA Standings: Munich Ravens stay unbeaten as playoff race tightens

Nine weeks into the inaugural European Football Alliance season, the Munich Ravens have emerged as the league’s only unbeaten team, clinching a playoff berth with a perfect 7-0 record. The Nordic Storm remain firmly in contention at 6-1 after bouncing back from their only loss, while the battle for the remaining two playoff spots has tightened considerably. The Frankfurt Galaxy and the Prague Lions picked up crucial victories in Week 9, while the Paris Musketeers have dropped two straight to fall below .500. The Raiders Tirol, meanwhile, remain in search of their first win despite several competitive performances.

1. Munich Ravens (7-0)

The Ravens have looked like the class of the EFA from the opening kickoff. Their offense has consistently produced big plays while the defense has improved every week. After victories over the Raiders Tirol (58-30), the Frankfurt Galaxy (45-26), the Paris Musketeers (41-7), the Prague Lions (45-13), the Raiders Tirol (32-24) and the Frankfurt Galaxy again (38-5), the Munich Ravens have secured a playoff berth and established themselves as the team to beat.

2. Nordic Storm (6-1)

Despite suffering their first loss of the season, a 20-12 setback to the Frankfurt Galaxy, the Storm responded impressively following their bye week with a convincing 40-14 road win over the Raiders Tirol. Victories over the Prague Lions (47-13), the Raiders Tirol (39-16), the Frankfurt Galaxy (20-12), the Paris Musketeers (48-16), the Munich Ravens (37-34) and the Raiders Tirol have showcased one of the league’s most explosive offenses led by Jadrian Clark.

3. Frankfurt Galaxy (3-4)

The Galaxy have experienced an up-and-down season but remain firmly in playoff position. After opening with losses to the Paris Musketeers and the Munich Ravens, they defeated the Raiders Tirol (21-5), the Prague Lions (31-18), the Nordic Storm (20-12) and the Paris Musketeers (31-24). Although they were overwhelmed 38-5 by the Munich Ravens in Week 9, the Frankfurt Galaxy still control their own postseason destiny heading into the final weeks.

4. Prague Lions (2-5)

The Lions have become one of the league’s best comeback stories. After opening 0-5, they broke through with a thrilling 45-44 victory over the Raiders Tirol before following it up with perhaps the biggest upset of the season, edging the Paris Musketeers 36-35 in overtime. Those back-to-back wins have kept the Prague Lions’ playoff hopes alive heading into the stretch run.

5. Paris Musketeers (3-4)

The Musketeers looked like championship contenders after opening the season 3-0 with victories over the Frankfurt Galaxy, the Prague Lions, and the Raiders Tirol. Since then, however, things have unraveled. Losses to the Munich Ravens, the Nordic Storm, the Frankfurt Galaxy, and the Prague Lions have dropped the Paris Musketeers below .500, leaving little margin for error over the final weeks.

6. Raiders Tirol (0-7)

The record doesn’t tell the whole story for the Raiders. The Raiders Tirol have faced arguably the toughest schedule in the league and have pushed several contenders to the limit, including one-score losses to the Paris Musketeers, the Munich Ravens, and a dramatic 45-44 defeat to the Prague Lions. However, a 40-14 loss to the Nordic Storm in Week 9 extended the losing streak to seven games, leaving the Austrian club still searching for its first EFA victory.
