European Football Alliance Week 6 preview: Ravens, Storm collide in battle of unbeaten contenders
Week 6 of the European Football Alliance features two games with very different storylines. On Saturday, two teams still searching for their first victory meet as the Raiders Tirol host the Prague Lions. Then on Sunday, attention shifts to one of the biggest games of the season as the unbeaten Munich Ravens and Nordic Storm square off in a showdown that could have major implications in the race for first place.
Saturday, June 27: Prague Lions (0-5) @ Raiders Tirol (0-4)
One of these teams will have an opportunity to finally get into the win column. The Raiders Tirol pushed the Paris Musketeers to the limit last week before falling 24-17 on a touchdown with only 16 seconds remaining, their fourth straight narrow defeat against one of the league’s toughest schedules.
Quarterback Steven Krajewski directed perhaps Tirol’s most complete offensive performance of the season, while Lukas Haslwanter and Tobias Bonatti helped establish an effective running game. The Prague Lions showed plenty of fight in a 31-18 loss to Frankfurt Galaxy, with Jaylon Henderson throwing for 198 yards and two touchdowns while adding 61 rushing yards. William Patterson and Matyáš Bílý continue to provide big-play threats for the Prague passing attack. Both teams have shown flashes this season, but now need a win to build momentum.
Sunday, June 28: Nordic Storm (5-0) @ Munich Ravens (4-0)
This is the marquee matchup of Week 6. The Munich Ravens have rolled through their first four games, while Nordic Storm has been equally dominant, most recently dismantling the Paris Musketeers 48-16 behind another outstanding all-around performance.
Russell Tabor has efficiently guided the Ravens offense, while the ground game and balanced receiving corps have made Munich one of the league’s most dangerous teams. Nordic Storm counters with Jadrian Clark, who threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns last week, along with Glen Toonga, who rushed for 125 yards and a score. Brendan Beaulieu continues to be one of the league’s hottest receivers after a 213-yard, two-touchdown performance against Paris. With both teams unbeaten, Sunday’s clash could be an early championship preview and one of the defining games of the regular season.
