France: Marseilles Blue Stars sign All New England QB Trevor Knight

The Marseille Blue Stars who play in the French Federation of American Football’s Elite division have announced the signing of quarterback Trevor Knight for the 2020 season.

The 6′, 200 lb,  23 year old native of Nashua, New Hampshire (NCAA Div. 1, FCS, Colonial Athletic Association) had an outstanding college career at the University of New Hampshire where finished his UNH career ranked among the all-time best quarterbacks in career completions (590, fifth), passing yards (6,345, sixth) and pass attempts (1,005, sixth). In his injury-shortened senior year,  he started all eight games he played, tallying seven touchdown passes and 1074 yards while completing 56.12% of his passes. He also scored four rushing touchdowns. As a junior in 2017, he won the New England Football Writers Division I Season Gold Helmet Award.and was named to the All-New England Division I Football Team after completing 291 of 471 passes for 3,433 yards and 26 touchodwns.

He was hand picked out of high school by UNH head coach Sean McDonnell:

“We viewed (Knight) as an athlete coming out of high school. We knew he was probably the most talented athlete in the state and we felt if he couldn’t play quarterback he could play running back, he could play receiver, maybe even defensive back. That’s something he hadn’t done, but he was so athletic and so explosive and when we went down to Nashua to those (one-day camps) we used to do in the state we were just very impressed with everything he was doing — running, catching, throwing — but when he was throwing the ball there was a lot of tight spin, so we knew we were going to give him a shot at quarterback.

“Once he got into open space and got going he was as good of a player running in this league — especially as a quarterback — as we’ve seen in a long time. More importantly at UNH probably the best we’ve ever had running it.”

Blue Stars offensive coordinator Mele J. Mosqueda:

“We are very fortunate to have signed Trevor for the upcoming 2020 Elite Season. In him, we have not only found one of the most talented and coveted QB’s in the 2019 Class, but also an amazing young man who will be a tremendous leader for this team and is an immediate impact for our offense.”
