Fujitsu Frontiers rally past Fujifilm Ebina Minerva AFC with dominant second half

The Fujitsu Frontiers (3-0) erased a halftime deficit by scoring 21 unanswered second-half points to defeat Fujifilm Ebina Minerva AFC (1-1) 31-14 in X League Premier action at Fujitsu Stadium Kawasaki.

Fujifilm controls first half

After a 48-day break between games, Fujifilm Ebina came out sharp.

Quarterback Chevin Cordeiro led an efficient passing attack, throwing for 209 first-half yards while repeatedly connecting with wide receiver Jason Matthew. The duo helped the visitors build a 14-10 halftime lead and put the unbeaten Frontiers under pressure.

Frontiers flip the script

Everything changed after halftime.

The Fujitsu defense made key adjustments, limiting Cordeiro to just 73 passing yards over the final two quarters while taking away the connection with Matthew that had fueled the first-half success.

On offense, the running game took over. Koki Miyake and Masanari Kagawa powered the Frontiers on the ground, helping the home team score three second-half touchdowns and completely seize control of the game.

The balanced attack allowed Fujitsu to dominate the final two quarters and finish with 21 unanswered points.

Winning streak continues

Jason Matthew still finished with an impressive 10 receptions for 130 yards, but the Minerva offense could not match its first-half production after the break.

The comeback victory keeps the Fujitsu Frontiers unbeaten through three games and reinforces their status as one of the early favorites in the X League Premier. For Fujifilm Ebina Minerva AFC, the loss drops the club to 1-1 after an encouraging first half gave way to a frustrating finish.
