Germany: Potsdam Royals retain defensive back Ronaldo Tomasello for 4th season

The defending German Football League champion Potsdam Royals have secured veteran defensive back Ronaldo Tomasello for his fourth consecutive season, maintaining a key piece of their championship secondary as they pursue a fourth straight title.

Decorated veteran brings consistency
The 32-year-old from Indianapolis, Indiana has been a model of production and durability since joining the Royals in 2023. A Ball State University alumnus, Tomasello has led the team in interceptions each of his three seasons in Potsdam, including back-to-back GFL interception leader titles in 2024 and 2025. His consistent ball-hawking presence has been vital to the team’s historic three-peat.

Championship pedigree and versatility
Before joining PotsdamTomasello built an impressive international résumé, earning MVP honors in Romania (2021) with the Reșița Locomotives, and both Defensive MVP and Running Back of the Year in Spain (2022) with Osos Rivas.
