Germany’s Ravensburg Razorbacks sign Swiss LB Fabio Rothmund

The Ravensburg Razorbacks of the German Football League have added to their defense with the signing of Swiss national team linebacker Fabio Rothmund.

The 6′, 220 pound, 21 year old Rothmund,  a native of Winterthur, Switzerland, is signing with a non-Swiss team for the first time.

A member of the Swiss National Team from his teenage years, Rothmund started playing football with the Winterthur Warriors enjoying a five-year career from 2014-2019.

Rothmund admits this is a big step but he is eager for the challenge:

“Switching from Switzerland to the GFL is a big move. It’s going to be more challenging, and that’s what helps me to keep improving.”

The young Swiss talent had originally signed with the Razorbacks in 2020 but the GFL season was canceled due to the pandemic. The GFL season is scheduled to start June 5, 2021.
