IFAF: European U19 Championships kick off this weekend

The 2023 International Federation of American Football U19 European Championships kicks off this weekend with a total of six games in a new format.

The defending champions, Team Austria, and 2019 runners up, Team Sweden will both play home games with the Austrians hosting Team Finland and Sweden welcoming Team Denmark to Kristianstad. Germany returns to the competition and will travel to France to face Team France who won bronze at the 2019 European Championships. Sixth place finishers in 2019, Team Spain, will play host to Belgium while Great Britain travels to Italy to take on an Italian team that finished seventh in 2019. Finally, Team Switzerland travels to the Czech Republic to play their first game against the home side.
