Italy: Legnano Frogs add versatile weapon Luke Caliendo for 2026 season
The Legnano Frogs have bolstered their offensive arsenal for the 2026 Italian Football League season, officially signing dynamic American playmaker Luke Caliendo, a versatile wide receiver and return specialist from North Babylon, New York.
A versatile offensive threat
The 5’11”, 190-pound athlete brings immediate flexibility to Legnano’s scheme, capable of lining up at wide receiver, running back, or even defensive back if needed. Caliendo arrives after a standout collegiate career at the State University of New York Maritime College (NCAA Div. III), where he left a significant mark. During the 2024 season, he scored 11 touchdowns and helped lead the Privateers to their first-ever postseason victory in program history. Over his 17-game college career with Maritime College, he accumulated 1,886 all-purpose yards, 94 receptions for 1,052 yards, and 16 total touchdowns while also contributing 577 kick return yards.
Elevating the Frogs’ offense
Caliendo’s well-rounded skill set, refined further at the prestigious Long Island Wide Receiver Academy, provides the Frogs with a reliable target and a potential game-breaker in both the passing game and special teams as they prepare for their IFL campaign.
