With one game left, new tackling leader in Italy, Milano Seamen top league

With the end of the regular season looming this weened in Italy’s Division I, a new tackling leader has emerged as Matt Conroy of the Milano Rhinos has taken over top spot.

The Milano Seamen have four total represeentatives in the four categories while the Milano Rhinos,Lazio Ducks, Parma Panthers and Firenze Guelfi have three each.  The Ancona DolphinsTorino Giaguari , Bolzano Giants and UTA Pesaro all have one each.

The Milano Seamen lead the league standings with a 9-0 record and with the best offense (381 points) and best defense (103 points allowed) in Italy. The Seamen are followed in the standings by the 7-2 Parma Panthers, 7-2 Bolzano Giants and the Ancona Dolphins who are at 4-5 and in fourth.

Passing

Lazio Ducks QB Hans Fortune has retained the passing yardage lead and now has 2,239 yards and 24 TDs. Luke Zahradka from the Milano Seamen is still 2nd with his 2,203 and league-best 37 TDs. Milano Rhinos QB Kevin Ellison remains in  3rd, now with 1,836 yards while Tommasso Monardi of the Parma Panthers is 4th. He has thrown for 1,792 yards and 21 TDs. Firenzi Guelfi QB Tony Dawson holds onto the 5th spot 1,283 yards.

Rushing

Lazio Ducks RB Mike Gentili continues to hold the lead in rushing yardage with 702 yards and 10 TDs while Parma Panthers Alessandro Malpeli Avali  stays in 2nd with 685 yards and 10 TDs. Firenzi Guelfi QB Tony Dawson has is still 3rd with 673 yards while Fabiano Hale of the Torino Giaguari has moved up into 4th with 506 yards and 6 TDs. Milano Rhinos QB Kevin Ellison has slid down to 5th and has rushed for 497 yards and 5 TDs.

Receiving

Milano Seamen WR Xavier Mitchell remains in the lead in receiving yardage for the fourth week in a row. He now has 851 yards and also a league-best 17 TD receptions. Lazio Ducks WR Paolo Biancalana remains in 2nd with 769 yards. Kris Durham of the Parma Panthers still has 707 yards in receiving and 10 TDs, good for 3rd.  Stefano Di Tunisi, from the Milano Seamen remains in  4th with 669 yards and 12 TDs.  Milano Rhinos WR Giacomo Bonanno has slid down to 5th with 570 yards. Bolzano’s Mark Simone has climbed back up among the top 5 and now has 667 yards receiving good for 5th.

Tackles

Milano Rhinos Matt Conroy had an 8 tackle game in the Giants defeat of the Parma Panthers and has taken over the tackling lead with 58 tackles. The Firenzi Guelfi defense has relied heavily on  injured LB Nicholas Holshee who is now 2nd with 50.5 tackles in 6 games. Ancona Dolphins linebacker, Nikolas Suppa  Thas moved up to 3rd with 50 tackles while Milano Seamen LB Kevin Khay has slid down one spot to 4th wit 49 tackles. New on the list this week is Alberto Abbondanza from UTA Pesaro who has 43.5 tackles.
