Lazio Ducks top stats after Week 1 in Italy

After the first week of action in Italy’s Div. I, the top league in Italy, the Lazio Ducks have proven that offensively they could be a team to be reckoned with.

The Ducks have four players among the top five in the three key offensive categories. Next is the Bolzano Giants who have three players followed by the Ancona Dolphins and Parma Panthers with two apiece. The Milano Seamen, Torino Giaguari, Bergamo Lions and Bologna Warriors have one each.

Passing

Lazio Ducks QB Tyler Johnson opened the season with a big passing day throwing from 281 yards and 3 TDs to top all quarterbacks. Nelson Hughes of the Ancona Dolphins follows in second with 256 yards while Bolzano Giants QB Austin Gahafer is third with 212 yards. Luke Zahradka of the Milano Seamen had a quiet opening day with 152 yards and 3 TDs while Torino’s Mark Wright is 5th with 150 yards.

Rushing

Ducks RB Mike Gentili continues to rumble and opened the year with a 102 yard rushing day to lead all backs. Alessandro Malpeli Aval of the Parma Panthers also had a punishing rushing day with 99 yards and 2 TDs while Bergamo’s Alexander Germany was solid with 64 yards against the Seamen. Ervis Cira of the Warriors is 4th with his 61 yards while Bolzano’s Giacomo Querzola is 5th with 49 yards after one game.

Receiving

Ancona Dolphins WR Dylan Albertson leads all receivers after the first weekend with 91 yards and 1 TD while Vincenzo Ferraro of the Panthers is 2nd with his 81 yards. Pogo Bembo of the Giants is 3rd while Lorenzo Melchiorre of the Lazio Ducks is 4th with 67 and teammate Tommaso Pozzebon is right behind with 64 yards.
