The Danube Dragons (3-0) head into the unfriendly confines of Tivoli Stadium in Innsbruck, Austria to face the 3-0 Swarco Raiders in Austrian Football League play, Easter Monday.

The battle of the unbeatens.

The Raiders have looked formidable so far in the Austrian Football League season. They opened the year with three wins, including a 48-28 victory over arch rivals, the Dacia Vienna Vikings. Quarterback Sean Shelton has thrown for 535 yards and nine touchdowns while rushing for another 149 yards and two touchdowns. He has a lot of weapons at his disposal including Sandro Platzgummer who has rushed for 166 yards. Shelton’s top receiver is Patrick Donahue who has 166 yards in receptions and a pair of touchdowns.

Last week, Swarco disposed of France’s Thonon Black Panthers, beating them 41-7 in Central European Football League action.

Dragons starting quarterback Chad Jeffries is the fourth leading passer in the league with 651 yards and seven touchdowns to his credit. He is also the fourth leading rusher with 226 yards, but averaging 9.4 yards a carry. Philipp Haun (212 yds), Reinhard Knaus (166 yds) and Felix Reisacher (141 yds) are his three leading receivers. Running back Dominik Mattes has rushed for 115 yards, averaging 6.4 yards/carry.

Defensively for Danube, linebacker Junjie Gao is a key. He leads the team with 16.5 tackles so far in three games.

Interesting to note: Swarco has not lost a game at home since April 13, 2013. Vienna beat them 48-13.
