The Prague Lions (2-5) host the unbeaten Munich Ravens (7-0) on Sunday in a pivotal European Football Alliance matchup as the league leaders look to strengthen their hold on first place while the Lions continue their late-season push for a playoff berth.

Munich chasing the top seed

The Ravens have been the standard in the EFA this season and enter the weekend after an impressive 38-5 victory over the Frankfurt Galaxy. The win kept Munich unbeaten and moved the club another step closer to securing home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Quarterback Russell Tabor continues to lead one of the league’s most balanced offenses. Last week he completed 32 of 43 passes for 293 yards and two touchdowns, while Justus Seelig added 127 rushing yards and two scores. Louis Geyer contributed 10 receptions for 77 yards and two touchdowns as the offense continued to produce in multiple ways.

Just as impressive has been the Ravens defense, which has consistently limited opponents’ opportunities and forced teams to earn every yard.

Prague finding its stride

After opening the season with five straight losses, the Lions have suddenly become one of the hottest teams in the league. Prague enters the game on a two-game winning streak, including last week’s dramatic 36-35 overtime victory over the Paris Musketeers.

Jaylon Henderson once again carried the offense, throwing for 296 yards and four touchdowns while adding 98 rushing yards. Matyáš Bílý caught two touchdown passes, William Patterson added another score, and Marek Hrubon forced overtime with a clutch 54-yard field goal before the Lions completed the comeback.

That victory kept Prague’s playoff hopes alive and gave the team plenty of confidence heading into its biggest challenge of the season.

Star players in focus

Sunday’s matchup features two of the league’s most productive offenses.

The Ravens have shown they can beat opponents with a balanced attack built around Tabor, Seelig and Geyer, while the Lions rely heavily on Henderson’s dual-threat ability to create explosive plays both through the air and on the ground.

Containing those playmakers will be the priority for both defenses.

Playoff implications everywhere

The stakes couldn’t be much higher for either team. Munich can move one step closer to locking up the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the postseason, while Prague knows every remaining game is critical in the race for the final playoff spots.
