The Marseilles Blue Stars (3-0) put their unbeaten streak on the line Sunday, March 19 when they host the Toulouse Ours (2-1-1) as the FFFA D1 Elite (Federation Francaise de Football Americain) winds up its fifth weekend of play.

The Blue Stars have looked solid in their first three games. They downed the Catalans Grizzlys 26-14 to open the season and then handed the Aix Argonautes a 36-0 shellacking before whipping the Grenoble Centaures 40-9 in their last outing. Meanwhile, Toulouse started the 2023 season by beating the Aix Argonautes 17-7 and Grenoble Centaures 40-2, tying the Grizzlys Catalans 21-21 before dropping a 13-6 decision to the Nice Dauphins.

Blue Stars quarterback Chase Andries has looked impressive and in the win over Grenoble completed 12 of 20 passes for 207 yards and five touchdowns earning him offensive player of the week in France for the second week in a row. Andries has receivers Vincent Monteiro and Pedro Pires Da Rosa Fernandes as his key targets. Running back Emmanuel Ntoutoume-Etoughe gives Marseilles a solid ground game.

The Toulouse offense has impressed behind the play of former Army quarterback Tony Brown who is one of the top rushers in France. He has wide receiver Nemieceo Loureiro and French national team wideout Pierre Hilderald to throw to.

This could be the biggest test yet for the division leading Blue Stars.
