LIVESTREAM: Germany – Hildesheim Invaders @Berlin Rebels, Sunday, May 26, 3p CEDT (9a EDT)

The 3-0 Hildesheim Invaders take their show to Berlin Sunday, May 26 to face the 0-2 Berlin Rebels in the third round of action in the German Football League.

Berlin won both games between the two teams in 2018, 31-17 and 38-0.

The Rebels have opened the 2019 campaign losing two games in a row, which they have not done since 2015 when they lost their first three games of the year en route to a 4-8 season.

The Rebels were beaten 30-17 in their opening game by the Potsdam Royals in Potsdam, and then they dropped a 29-12 decision to the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions.

Hildesheim is so far the most improved team in the league and have won their three opening games by lopsided scores beating the Potsdam Royals 50-28, taking care of the Dusseldorf Panther 49-17 and then downing the Cologne Crocodiles 31-14.

Berlin quarterback Terrell Robinson has thrown for 377 yards and three touchdowns in the losses to Potsdam and Braunschweig, with TJ Esekielu as his leading receiver with six catches for 128 yards and a touchdown. The running game which was the strength of the team, has been almost non existent as the Rebels have gained a total of 108 yards on the ground with Andreas Betza as the top rusher with 47 yards in total and a touchdown.

Invaders quarterback Casey Therriault, in his first game back in the GFL in two years, shook the rust off early in the opening game, throwing for 475 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for another.  In Hildesheim’s second game against Dusseldorf, he tossed 6 TD passes throwing for 393 yards but he slowed down against Cologne with only 188 yards passing but three touchdowns. So far in the three games he has also rushed for a team-leading 128 yards and a touchdown. Wide receivers Jaleel Awini (230 yds, 3 TDs), Nathaniel Morris (439 yds,  6 TDs) and Anthony Dablé-Wolf (283 yds, 4 TDs) have been explosive.
