LIVESTREAM: Germany – Kirchdorf Wildcats @Munich Cowboys, July 21, 4p (10a EST)

The surging Munich Cowboys (2-5) will face the Kirchdorf Wildcats (2-5-1) at Munich’s Dante Stadion, Saturday, July 21 in the only game in the German Football League.

The Cowboys have won their last two games after starting the year with five straight losses. First Munich surprised the Allgau Comets, beating them 31-28, and then they handed the Ingolstadt Dukes a 28-23 defeat.

Kirchdorf on the other hand have lost three consecutive games including two to the Comets.

Munich quarterback Trenton Miller is averaging 272.4 yards passing per game, third best among all quarterbacks. However, the Cowboys running game is anemic averaging 44.6 yards a game. However, there has been improvement as running back Alexander Funk has rushed for 142 yards in the last two games, both wins. So expect to see more of him in this game.

Wildcats quarterback Cameron Birse  has thrown for 1,210 yards and 12 touchdowns so far this season, good for 10th in the GFL. Wide receiver  Clemens Erlsbacher is his leading target with 593 yards receiving an six touchdowns. He is followed by Brandon Cox with 24 catches for 405 yards.

A win by Munich in this game would prove that their last two wins were not flukes and put them in a position to still challenge for a playoff berth. The Wildcats sit fifth in the GFL South standings but have played one extra game. They desperately need to win today.
