LIVESTREAM Germany PPV: Düsseldorf Panther @ Allgäu Comets, Aug. 22, 16:00 CET (4 pm, 10 am ET)
The Allgäu Comets (1-9) are running out of opportunities to escape the bottom of the GFL South, while the Düsseldorf Panther (4-6) arrive at Illerstadion Saturday knowing a road win would take them another important step toward the German Football League playoffs.
With only two regular-season games remaining, neither team has much room for error. The Comets are trying to climb away from the playdown spot despite a roster hit hard by injuries, while the Panther are holding fourth place in the GFL North and trying to keep the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes behind them.
Panther arrive with momentum
Düsseldorf comes into Kempten after a huge 29-13 road win over the Berlin Rebels.
The Panther trailed 13-7 at halftime before exploding after the break. Daniel Pedro took the opening kickoff of the second half 100 yards for a touchdown, and Chando Ndongfack followed by picking off Tyquell Fields and racing 53 yards to the end zone.
Dawson Herl then found Pedro for another touchdown as Düsseldorf took control.
Gennadiy Adams gives the offense another weapon out of the backfield. He rushed for 90 yards against Berlin, including a 65-yard touchdown, while James Okike hauled in 10 passes for 100 yards.

Comets fighting through injuries
For the Comets, the challenge is as much about who remains available as anything else.
A steady run of injuries has reduced the roster, but Allgäu has still shown it can move the football with big plays through the air and on the ground. Protecting possession will be critical Saturday, particularly against a Panther defense that repeatedly changed the game against Berlin.
The stakes are also substantial. Allgäu sits seventh in the GFL South and needs points from its final two games to improve its position.
Playoff race enters crunch time
The Panther have won three of five road games this season, and another victory away from home would keep them firmly in control of their playoff chase.
But Düsseldorf cannot afford to look ahead to its regular-season finale against the Straubing Spiders.
The Comets have their own season to fight for, and with both teams facing very different consequences from a loss, Saturday’s interconference matchup carries plenty of weight.
