LIVESTREAM Great Britain – BUCS Playoffs: Portsmouth Destroyers @ Nottingham Gold, Feb. 25, 14:30 CET (2:30 pm, 1:30 pm GMT, 8:30 am ET)

The University of Nottingham Gold are set to host the Portsmouth Destroyers at David Ross Sports Village as both teams will open up their playoff British Universities and Colleges Sport campaigns.

UoN made the BUCS Final in both 2023 and 2022, falling just short on both occasions to the UWE Bullets.

The Gold finished this regular season once again claiming the top seed in the North, this time with an undefeated record over eight games. Their 30.8 points and 6.8 points against per-game rank them third in the league in both categories after yet another dominant regular season run.

UoN hardly faltered in the regular season, although they came close to taking losses to a very strong Leeds Beckett side, winning the first faceoff 30-20 before scraping by with a 9-8 win in the latter half of the season.

Portsmouth have had a mixed introduction into the Premier division after a Division 1 Southern championship last year saw them earn promotion before being blown out in Nottingham in the Division 1 National Championship game against Loughborough.

The Destroyers went 2-6 in their first year in the Prem, managing to upset the Birmingham Lions twice despite losing to the relegation-bound Cardiff Cobras in both meeting.

UoP’s return to Nottingham will see them look for a huge upset as UoN are planning to defend their perfect season.
