LIVESTREAM IFAF Men’s Euros PPV: Switzerland @ Denmark, Oct. 17, 14:00 CET (2 pm, 8 am ET)

The Danish national team opens its 2026–27 IFAF Men’s European Championship campaign on Saturday, October 17, when it welcomes a confident Switzerland (1–0) to Vejle Stadium. The Danes will be looking to repeat their victory over the Swiss in the previous championship, but the visitors arrive fresh off one of the opening round’s biggest surprises.

Switzerland riding high after upset

The Swiss stunned the favored Czech Republic 11–9 last weekend in Chur, recording their first European Championship victory in more than a decade.

Quarterback Loris Lenzlinger connected with Thomas Gfeller for the game’s only Swiss touchdown, while Nils Jonkmans added a field goal.

However, it was the defense that ultimately secured the victory, stopping a late two-point conversion before interceptions by Benaya Alerini and Timo von Bodungen sealed the upset.

Head coach Geoff Buffum knows the challenge isn’t getting any easier.

“We are in a tough group with two teams who both finished in the top six in the last competition,” he said.

Denmark looking to settle unfinished business

Denmark finished sixth in the previous championship, defeating Switzerland 27–20 and edging Hungary before suffering a disappointing 23–0 loss to the Czech Republic in the fifth-place game.

Head coach Sebastian Johansson is counting on his young squad to deliver.

“We have a young, hungry team eager to make the most of the final days of football in 2026,” Johansson said.

A victory would put Switzerland firmly in control of Group D, while Denmark needs a home win to avoid falling behind in the race for advancement.
