The Bologna Warriors (0-1) travel to Florence, Italy Saturday, March 9 to face the Firenze Guelfi (0-1) as the Italian Football League enters its second weekend of play.

The Warriors suffered an embarrassing 42-7 loss to the Torino Giaguari last weekend while Firenze were surprised by the Varese Skorpions who beat them 7-0.

The Guelfi defeated Bologna 34-7 in the only meeting between the two teams in 2023.

Firenze enter the game with Andrea Fimiani at quarterback. Although his passing stats last week against Varese left a lot to be desired (he only threw for 36 yards) as usual he more than made up for it with 120 yards rushing. However, the Firenze offense could not find the end zone. The Guelfi will need to find their 2023 form when the offense led the entire league.

The Warriors generated a measly 35 yards of offense in the lopsided loss to Torino and they will need to see a quick turnaround against a Guelfi team also looking for a win. Quarterback Ashley Brooks completed just seven of 25 passes for 32 yards in last week’s loss. This could be another long day for Bologna.
