This Sunday, October 18, the Bydgoszcz Archers will visit the Tychy Falcons in a highly anticipated matchup between these two playoff bound teams in Poland’s Liga Futbolu Amerykańskiego.

Both teams matchup really well with each other posting similar scores against their competition in the LFA. Both the Falcons and Archers are 2-2 with wins against the Warsaw Mets and Silesia Rebels.

The Archers are coming into this game after losing to the Wroclaw Panthers 58-0 last week. The swarming defense and dominant run game that led them to a victory against Silesia was nowhere to be found. The Archers are hoping that this week French running back Meril Zero can get back to making big plays that have led him to score five touchdowns this season.

Linebacker Kadel King and the Archers defense will be looking looking to bounce back after the Panthers game and get back to pressuring the quarterback and creating turnovers like they did so well against Silesia. Against the Rebels the Archers collected nine sacks and a pick six. King on the matchup:

“This week honestly we need to relax and play our game, limit the mistakes and give our best efforts. We all want to bounce back strong after the Panthers game.”

The Tychy Falcons lost their last matchup as well, losing to the Bialystok Lowlanders 42-32. The score was 22-22 at the half before the Falcons run defense gave up three touchdowns to Glen Toonga. Some bright spots for them were quarterback Niklas Gorny who threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns, and Falcons WR Dominik Niedkiela had 95 yards receiving and 1 TD. They will need their offense to put up points again this week. Defensive back Rashad Still also had a key first half pick six. Still on the matchup this week with the Archers:

“I think the key this week is playing a complete game. Take care of the ball and have less turnovers. As long we don’t hurt ourselves we should have a problem. ”

This matchup has all the makings of a very exciting game as both teams seem to be on a level playing field. Look for special teams and run defense to make the difference in this close game. If the Falcons can slow down the Archers offense and running back Meril Zero they should leave the field victorious.
