The Krakow Kings (1-2) will play host to the Warsaw Eagles (0-3) in one of two big games in the Polish Football League Saturday, May 22.
The Kings look to bounce back after two straight losses, while the Eagles see an opportunity to win their first game of the season.
The Warsaw Eagles have shown improvement every week since their season opening blowout loss. Two weeks ago, they played a tight game against the Bialystok Lowlanders, taking the 2020 runner ups down to the wire in a 7-19 game. The Eagles and coach Talib Wise will look to improve their special teams play as poor long snapping hurt them in that loss. One bright spot for the Eagles offense has been Lithuanian lineman Renaldas Macevicius. Macevicius has been playing both ways for the Eagles as an offensive tackle and linebacker.

“The first two games we made a lot mistakes, a lot of turnovers just giving the other team gifts. Now we are limiting turnovers hoping to put it all together. Any game for us is winnable that’s how we approach it.”
The Krakow Kings are intent on halting their two-game losing streak which means eliminating the turnovers that have plagued their offense which has allowed opposing defenses to score on them multiple times this season. Look for quarterback Fillip Moscicki and running back Alonzo Brock to play more conservatively to control possession of the ball.

“The story of this season has been mistakes. We’ve played well at times both on offense and defense but have failed to execute to the level we are used to and the unforced errors have cost us the past two games. The key for us now is to minimize mistakes and maximize the execution of the game plan that Coaches Łodziński and Jackson prepare for us.”
Defensively, Kings linebacker Filip Swiechowicz has been one of the league’s hardest hitting players. Swiechowicz will have his hands full with the Eagles athletic quarterback Shazzon Mumphrey this week. Expect Swiechowicz to play a quarterback spy on the Eagles dual threat passer.
For Krakow, this is a must win game as they look to remain in the playoff hunt. The Eagles on the other hand will look to play spoiler and earn their first win of the season at home.
